I know posthumous stars are rare, but Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched, recieved one today. I still have hopes for Michael someday!

I so wish she had gotten that while she was still alive. Bruce Lee got one after he died too. It would be wonderful if Michael got one or at the least INXS.

I really want Michael to get his own star or with Hutch/INXS! I think that day will eventually come.I just wish they would hurry up already so many people want it done for Michael!

I completely agree with you hutchizalegend....Michael always come first for me. He is the total musician and performer. He wrote almost all of the lyrics to the songs and performed them many, many times with al the passion and heart he would put into it. He should be acknowledged for His work first and if not inxs should be with him as their lead singer.

My first purchase if I EVER win a lottery will be to pay for this star! Michael/INXS really deserve it and I'd love to see it happen even if I had to do it myself!

I can't believe after all this time, only that paltry sum has been raised. What is 4 thousand dollars for all the wealthy folks out there? Peanuts! I don't see why Michael's well heeled friends haven't each donated a thousand or two. They can well afford it. I'm with you Mysti.. If I win the lotto, I'll buy the fricken star for Michael...

Shining Star he is! What really get's me, is some of the people that do have a star. Some just never will shine as bright as Michael does, ever! Just my little say ...

Well, I think its a case once again, of Michael labeled with INXS. (which is totally understandable). I'm sure the other inxs guys think they deserve a star too. Its just that there has been an application for one for Michael... don't know about a group one. And its just sad that the hard work of the fans and their donations seem to be in limbo.

Does Bono/U2 have a star? I think that if big bands like U2 or RHCP (who are from California if I'm not mistaken?!) are still doing really well and don't have a star then there isn't much hope for Michael getting one

I mean, he's been around like 5 minutes compared to other great performers who have been around for years and don't have one. I don't believe U2 or RHCP have one either. I still have my fingers crossed for INXS, even though odds are slim. I came across a list of folks who do have a star and there are about 2000. Anyone interested can take a gander. www.hollywoodusa.co.uk/walkoffamestarlocations.htm#Top

I think it would be nice for INXS or Micahel obviously to have their own star. But in all honesty, the stars really are little more than paid for publicity. The fees for the stars are usually paid by the performers studio or record label. And to those of us here in LA, they dont really hold much relevance other than to attract tourists. Here is the official site. www.hollywoodchamber.net/icons/history.aspAccording to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce the fee is now $25,000 & nominees must meet the follwoing criteria: Obviously Bono/U2 seems like they would be an obvious choice, but maybe they just arent into it. As for P. Diddy, as an artist he has only been around a few years, but he has been a record producer since the early 90's & started Bad Boy records. And is known in the industry as a star maker. (Just think of how he helped J-lo sell millions of records & she can barely sing her way out of a paper bag!) According to their website, Bad Boy Industries employs 600 people & sales of over 300 million annually!! Holy cow!!
